Richard N. Miller

Miller, Richard N. 68, of Ft. Myers, Florida and Mound MN, developer and home builder in Minneapolis area, Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island passed away Friday, October 23rd of lung cancer. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1941, he married Tanya Keller and built their first home as a teenager. His fascination with building, engineering and architecture parlayed into the development of his company, Richard Miller Homes, building many homes and neighborhood developments in and around the Minneapolis area. After receiving the Minnesota Reggie Award, an "Oscar" for home building, he established Pointe Santo Development. A brilliant man and visionary, he developed Pointe Santo de Sanibel condominium complex on Sanibel Island and Pointe Estero on Ft. Myers Beach, FL. An avid sailor, Richard loved being by and on the water. He was enormously proud of his daughters Shellene McCagg (David) and Sara Bauer (Chris) and his grandchildren Dylan, Raquel, Jade, Sophie and Tristan. In addition, he is survived by lifetime friend Tanya, sister Joann, brothers Jack (Evie), Larry, Miguel, many cousins, nieces & nephews. He will be greatly missed and we will hold him forever in our hearts.
