Gary R. Lester

Lester, Gary R. age 67, of Richfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. Preceded in death by father, Wendell and mother, Doris. Survived by brother, Warren (Melinda) of Deephaven; nieces, Vanessa of Denver, CO, Alyssia of Eden Prairie; nephew, Brandon of Phoenix, AZ; and great nieces, Claudia and Paloma of Eden Prairie; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Memorial service to be held in November with burial in Fort Snelling. GARY Kind and gentle, so polite, Would rest by day, awake at night. He loved to practice his guitar And drive his sporty silver car. With tender spirit like his mother, Spoke so highly of his brother. Dad was such an inspiration, Music was his first vocation. Crystal clear his voice would sing, Jazz guitar was "so his thing". With perfect pitch & chords so clear, What a gift for all to hear. Judo was his favorite sport, With Air Force flew to distant port. Ham radio was a way to speak To people off in Mozambique. His health would fail as years went by But never did he wonder why. He trusted God's own perfect plan And took each setback like a man. Now in God's arms he rests at last, No pain and suffering from the past. With angels singing harmony, He'll praise his God eternally.
