"I like to work, but I love to play." Hall Monitor, Band, Hi-Y.

July 27, 2009

After graduating from CHS, I went through 1 year of tech school at Mpls. Vocational Institute. I joined the Navy in May 1960 and served 4 years as a medical staff corpsman, serving all 4 years in New London, CT. While there I met and married my wife, Pat Haynes Howard, in May 1964.

We moved back to Mpls in May 1964 and I went back to Mpls. Vocational Institute and received a 2-year mechanical drawing certificate. In December 1965, my wife and I returned to CT as I began working at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT as a design draftsman.

My wife and I have two children: Stephen (3/15/67) and Victoria (Torrie) born 11/20/73. I worked for Pratt for 30 years and retired as Senior Support Equipment Engineer. Upon leaving Pratt I started my own business, PITH PRODUCTS, designing and building special containers for mostly the aerospace industry and others. In 2002, I sold the business and retired. Our son and his wife have blessed us with 3 grandchildren (1 boy and 2 girls) who live in North Carolina. Our daughter and her husband who live in nearby Coventry, CT have blessed us with one grandson and they are expecting another child in January 2010.
