Florence Green McKelvy

I cannot make the reunion this time. My husband has Alzheimer’s and I do not like to leave him too many times alone. This is a nice idea this time to tell everyone about our lives. I worked as an engineering secretary for Honeywell and that is where I met my husband. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Honeywell transferred us to Florida in 1971 and we moved to Merritt Island in 1998. We currently live in Florida, and will be moving to Texas soon.

I love to sing, both solo and in choirs. My biggest hobby is sewing. I also love to sew designer clothes that cost a mint, and have done about 20 weddings. Evening and bridal clothes are my specialty.

My oldest son lives in Austin, Texas and has three daughters. He is a branch manager for USA Today. He has a journalism degree from USF in Tampa. Our daughter lives in Merritt Island, Florida and has a son and daughter. She is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Systems and Controls. She has a masters in Engineering Management from UCF. She worked for NASA for twelve years and was the lead wiring engineer on the Columbia Shuttle. When she quit to watch her children, she was a human factors engineer in safety. Our youngest son lives in Bochum, Germany. He has a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida with a specialty in Systems and Controls. He has a Bachelors degree in mathematics, and medieval history and a masters in robotics engineering. He presently is a project manager for the Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany and the EU developing IT security. He is single.
