After graduation, I began work with the Department of Agriculture beginning in the office on Lake Street and moving to 60th and France (with bus service guaranteed for those who did not drive!) and the only other building out there in addition to Southdale Shopping Center. Around 1960 I moved to California and worked with the Federal Communications Commission, returning to Minnesota in 1963 because my twin, Jackie, had her first child. Began work with the Department of Veterans Affairs and stayed until my husband was accepted a a Licensed Lay Preacher in Pine City, Minnesota. We lived in several communities after his Ordination: Pine City (11 years), Blue Earth (5 years), Mahtomedi (3 years) and Inver Grove Heights (4 years). While at Inver Grove Heights, I returned to work with the VA. After 25 years, my husband and I divorced in 1991. I have 3 daughters, 1 son and 9 grandchildren. Indeed a blessed woman. After 10 years with the VA I retired! I love retirement!!! I am very active on the Board of Directors for the condominium association where I live. I enjoy reading, researching topics and historical people and other matters of interest on the internet. |
