Central High

Sandra (Knutson) Meyerson

I am proud to say that Central was my High School. It was an amazing state of the art school when it was built 100 plus years ago. Educators came from near and far to experience the great learning opportunities to be had. I did not graduate with my 1957 class, but completed the tenth grade at Central High with classmates and friends from Lyndale Elementary and Bryant Junior High. Most of whom were in the large confirmation class of Zion Lutheran Church on 34th and Pillsbury.

I married Leroy Lincoln Meyerson a Jordan Jr High/Central boy born in Aitkin MN. I was born in a very Swedish community in Rockford Illinois. We moved to Minneapolis in 1946 and lived in the Lake and Nicollet neighborhood. Leroy was my neighbor! He is a Finnish Norwegian. When I told my Swedish grandmother, she said, “Oh Sandra, it’s okay. He’s just a Swedish hillbilly”! Leroy and I will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary this year with a New Year 2016th party in Naples Italy. You are all invited!

We raised 4 children in Moundsview MN who graduated from Irondale High and on to the U of M. three children are living in the Twin City area with 20 of our grandchildren. One son, moved to Florida and there are two more grands there.

Leroy and I moved to Florida in 1981 and still reside in the Tampa Bay area. My career has been in dentistry and currently I am a Certified General Contractor (qualifier) with licensing in FL and LA.
