Riley Gilchrist

Of South Mpls. Oct. 1, 1939 - Nov. 6, 2005.

Preceded in death by his parents, Delois H. Gilchrist and Riley N. Gilchrist Sr. Survived by his wife, Judy R. Gilchrist; children, Jeffrey D., Shaun D. (Tracy) and Alyson D. (Greg) Nelson; brothers, Wendell (Isabelle), Gary (Carolyn) and Jay (Ann); sisters, Diane (Maurice) Young and Helen (William) Hatfield; grandchildren, Justin R., Geoffrey S., Salim I., Makena R., and Samuel C.; great-grandchildren, Jayden R. and Taylin J.; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Riley served the community as a MPD officer for 23 yrs. Continued to serve as an investigator for the HC Public Defenders office for 10 yrs. Mentor to children in the community as a youth football coach as well as a sponsor for the Fairway Foundation, introducing youth to golf.

Funeral Service Saturday, Nov. 12, 11AM at Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland at Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to one of the following; Fairway Foundation, Temple Israel, or North Memorial Hospital Stroke Unit.
